FINLAND

PEKI SINIKOSKI

How differently we all see and experience the world around us. When I encountered the previous image, this truth hit me with unexpected force — it felt silent, distant, leaving me almost numb. Though we both work in documentary photography, our realities seemed worlds apart. This disconnect became my starting point. Instead of the abstract or experimental work I had originally planned, I felt compelled to respond with what I know best: documenting Finnish people and their everyday lives. It‘s an approach I‘ve developed since 2006, exploring themes of identity, surface, and the constant subtle changes that shape our small country.
