Nicolas Wagner’s photo reminded me of a statue of Apollo that is located at the Sofia Mineral Baths: the feet standing on a pedestal look like they are sculpted. I had already photographed the place once before and had a nice shot of the statue‘s feet and a dove. I returned to the statue early in the morning and tried different perspectives and compositions. Finally, I took this shot with a flash placed at a distance from the subject to enhance the shadows and the effect of the steam rising from the hot water.
